5. Cancellations and Tuition Insurance: Students are enrolled for the full academic year and no adjustments can be made by the school for absences, withdrawal or dismissal. Therefore, insurance coverage for tuition is provided under the Tuition Refund Plan. This coverage will be provided by Dewar Insurance as outlined in the A. W. Dewar's brochure (copy available in the office after 1/15/08) or under a comparable, self-insured plan provided by the school. For all parents who pay monthly or semi-annually, it is mandatory that they purchase the Tuition Refund Plan. This year’s premium is 2.1% of total tuition and fees. For After-School/Extended Day Programs, the insurance can only be accessed in the event that a student is withdrawn from the school. Parents will still be responsible for all after-school fees in the event that a child is withdrawn from only the After-School/Extended Day Programs.

9. Tuition Assistance: The Cape Ann Waldorf School has a tuition assistance program to support those families who sincerely desire Waldorf education for their grade school children but cannot pay the full cost of such education, or become unable to do so during the academic year as a result of illness, loss of employment, or other extenuating circumstances. All requests for Tuition Assistance must be submitted to the Tuition Assistance Committee. The initial application deadline of February 15 must be adhered to. Applications received after the deadline will not receive the same consideration.
10. Nonpayment of Tuition Nonpayment of tuition has a serious impact on the school. The school asks that all families understand the need for timely and full payment of their tuition and fee obligations. If at any time you will be late or have a problem with payment, please notify the business manager as soon as possible. If nonpayment becomes an issue that cannot be satisfactorily resolved with the business manager, then the school will take any action it deems appropriate to obtain satisfaction on an unpaid tuition obligation, including: administrative withdrawal, referral of the debt to a collection agency or attorney for civil process; reporting of unpaid debt to credit reporting agencies; withholding of any diploma, certificate or scholastic record; revoking the use of After-School/Extended Day Programs; and dismissing, or refusing to renew or enroll children of families whose tuition payments are in arrears.
