  • Second Sweet Pea Aftercare Assistant  -- We are seeking a second assistant for our growing Sweet Pea aftercare program, to start immediately and continue through the end of the school year.   • Aftercare Assistant  We are seeking a part-time assistant to work with our Goldenstar program, an extended day program for children in nursery, kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. This position is available starting in May 2014 and runs until the end of the school year. The position resumes in September 2014 for the coming school year. The hours for this position are Monday through Thursday from 2:40 to 5:30 p.m., $10/hour.  Please follow link for details.

ABOUT CAPE ANN WALDORF SCHOOL:
Our healthy, thriving school, now in its 27th year, is a full member of AWSNA. Our school has approximately 125 children enrolled in nursery through eighth grade. Children in grades one through eight participate in several subject classes, including Physical Education, Music (Strings and Orchestra), Handwork, Foreign Language (German and Spanish), and Eurythmy. Our Early Childhood program includes two kindergartens, two nurseries, and a parent-child program.

Our faculty is a diverse, multi-generational group of men and women. We are a mix of both new and experienced teachers. Eurythmy Pianist, Fall 2014

A pianist is needed for eurythmy classes at the Cape Ann Waldorf School at Moraine Farm in Beverly, MA.

 

Specific to Waldorf education worldwide, eurythmy is a movement
curriculum that supports stages of development. The movement is a
accompanied with poetry and music.

 

We are looking for a pianist who would be open to this unique subject and willing to share his/her gift of music. This is a part time position, with classes scheduled Monday - Friday from 10:30 AM to 12:10 PM, and 12:55 PM to 2:30 PM. There are thirteen 45-minute lessons scheduled during these times through the week, with the exact schedule to be determined.

 

Applicants should have a basic understanding or interest in Waldorf pedagogy, a degree in classical piano or commensurate ability, classroom experience, and a reverent and respectful demeanor. The repertoire includes some pieces written specifically for the eurythmy classroom, and also many works from classical literature. Pieces might include Bach preludes and other short works, Schumann "Scenes from Childhood", movements from Beethoven sonatas, Schubert Impromptus, and other pieces of comparable difficulty.
